Tunisia Must Diversify Its Economic Partnerships to Reduce Dependence on Europe

Tunisia must urgently diversify its economic partnerships to reduce its dependence on Europe, which currently accounts for 73% of its trade exchanges. This was the main message delivered on Monday by Anis Jaziri, President of the Tunisia Africa Business Council (TABC), who advocates for a strategic shift towards African markets.

Speaking on national radio, the TABC President described the African continent as the "best destination" for Tunisia's economy. This attractiveness is based on two major pillars: immediate geographical proximity and high growth rates.

The dynamism of this relationship is already being reflected on the ground. Anis Jaziri highlighted the excellent behavior of exchanges with Sub-Saharan Africa, a region with which Tunisia records a positive trade surplus thanks to the continuous increase in its exports. "Hundreds of Tunisian companies are already active in several African countries, and our exports are experiencing constant growth," he explained to illustrate this success.

To consolidate this dynamic, the TABC President believes that efforts should not be one-way, calling on Tunisian authorities to simplify procedures and facilitate access to national markets for African products, a necessary condition for building a durable and balanced economic partnership.

Tunisia's Growing Exports to Africa
