38th Edition of the Comar Marathon to Take Place on November 30

The 38th edition of the Comar Marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, November 30. Although the program does not feature any major changes, record-breaking participation is expected.

A Grand Celebration of Running

Under the patronage of the Ministry of Youth and Sports and organized in partnership with the Tunisian Athletics Federation (FTA), this major running event promises a record attendance and a sports-friendly atmosphere open to all. "This 38th edition is once again part of a social and environmental responsibility approach," emphasize the organizers.

International Recognition

This year, the marathon has once again obtained the label of the International Athletics Federation and is featured on the calendar of the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races. This international competition status attracts runners from around the world and puts our country on the map of major global competitions, explains Lotfi Ben Haj Kacem. He adds that the Comar Marathon attracts a large number of sports tourists every year.

Record-Breaking Participation

As of last Thursday, the number of registered participants has reached 6,072. The number of foreign participants has already exceeded 1,300, and organizers are expecting 1,500 foreign participants from 50 nationalities.

A Comprehensive Program for All

As every year, the event offers a complete program designed for all types of runners:

  • The Marathon (42.195 km)
  • The Half-Marathon (21.1 km)
  • The Course for All (5 km) for beginners and families
  • The Kids Marathon for young people aged 7 to 14 The morning will conclude with the traditional awards ceremony. Beyond sports performance, this edition has a dual ambition: to strengthen the international reputation of the Comar Marathon by attracting more participants and promoting sports practice.

Enhanced Sanitary Measures

A reinforced sanitary device will be deployed throughout the courses, with first aid stations installed every 5 km and ambulances on standby. All runners will be equipped with electronic chips ensuring reliable and accurate timing.

Environmental Commitment

Faithful to its social commitment, the Comar Marathon will once again highlight the ecological operation "1 dinar collected = 1 tree planted". Participants can opt for a "solidarity bib" and contribute to reforestation and carbon neutrality efforts. In this context, the organizers have already collected funds to plant 156,500 trees in forests damaged by fires, in collaboration with the Tounes clean-UP association and volunteer staff from Comar and Hayett.

The Marathon Village

Parallel to this event, the Marathon Village, considered one of the highlights of the event, will take place with an exhibition of stands dedicated to various fields (sports, health, environment, among others).
