Minister of Industry Highlights Strategic Importance of Exporting 25% of CMR Tunisie's Revenue to the US
The Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, emphasized the strategic importance of exporting 25% of CMR Tunisie's revenue to the United States. According to her, this achievement showcases the competence of Tunisian experts and the quality and competitiveness of Tunisian products in the international market.
Inauguration of CMR Tunisie's Production Unit Extension
During the inauguration ceremony of the extension of CMR Tunisie's production unit, a French company located in the Mghira industrial zone in the governorate of Ben Arous, the minister recalled that the trust of foreign investors has enabled Tunisia to become a preferred destination for investment in a promising industrial sector, employing highly skilled labor.
National Strategy for Industrial Development
This unit, which currently employs 500 people and covers an area of approximately 11,000 square meters, is part of the national strategy to develop the Tunisian industry and double the sector's exports to reach $7 billion by 2030.
CMR Tunisie's Performance and Expansion Plans
The General Manager of the Tunisian subsidiary, Zinedine Ben Hadid, specified that CMR Tunisie, founded in 2001, achieved a turnover of 16 million dinars in 2024 and already exports to several countries, including France, the United States, and the United Kingdom. He announced that the expansion project is expected to recruit more than 800 additional collaborators over the next four years.
French Ambassador's Statement
The French Ambassador to Tunisia, Anne Guégan, indicated that this industrial project in the Mghira zone will contribute to the creation of new jobs and the development of a promising industrial sector. She added that the Tunisian-French industrial partnership will strengthen Tunisia's industrial capacity, support local skills, and consolidate production value chains in both countries.
