Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy Receives Chinese Delegation

The Minister of Industry, Mines, and Energy, Fatma Thabet Chiboub, received a delegation from the Chinese company YJC Power, specialized in the manufacture of energy storage systems, on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the ministry's headquarters.

Meeting Details

The meeting was attended by the Secretary of State for Energy Transition, Wael Chouchane, several senior officials from the ministry, and representatives from institutions under its supervision.

Project Announcement

During the meeting, the Chinese investor announced its project to create an industrial unit for the production of lithium batteries, intended for local and regional markets, in partnership with a Tunisian investor. This project is part of the support for local production of batteries and electronic systems, aiming to develop electric mobility through energy storage and strengthen the competitiveness of the national industry.

Tunisian Infrastructure and Competitiveness

The Chinese delegation praised the advantages of Tunisia's industrial infrastructure and local skills, highlighting the strategic role of Tunisia as a manufacturing and innovation site, as well as a gateway to European and African markets.
