Textile and Clothing Trade Balance Loses 3.4 Points

The textile and clothing trade balance lost 3.4 points by the end of July 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, (125% vs 128.4%), according to the economic letter published on Sunday, November 16, 2025, by the Textile Technical Center (CETTEX).

Export Performance

The value of textile and clothing exports recorded a 0.50% increase by the end of July 2025, compared to the same period in 2024, reaching 5,460.13 million dinars (MD). In terms of quantity, exports reached 89,684.79 tons of textile and clothing, a 1.22% increase.

Breakdown of Exports

  • Clothing exports declined by 3.28% to 4,362.33 MD during the first 7 months of 2025.
  • Textile exports increased by 19.02% to 1,097.80 MD by the end of July 2025.

Import Performance

Textile and clothing imports reached 3,687.50 MD by the end of July 2025, a 2.93% increase. The imported quantities were 166,938.84 tons, a 9.82% increase compared to the same period in 2024.

Imports from Main Supplier Countries

In suspension regime, the imports in value of textile and clothing from the main supplier countries show:

  • An increase in imports from Germany (5.33%), China (14.02%), Spain (7.18%), Portugal (7.48%), and Italy (3.90%).
  • A decrease in imports from Turkey (-3.06%), Belgium (-13.94%), France (-2.60%), and the Netherlands (-0.70%).
