Tunisian Association of SOS Children's Villages and French Foundation Sign Cooperation Agreement

The Tunisian Association of SOS Children's Villages, represented by its president Mohamed Magdiche, and the French Foundation of SOS Children's Villages, represented by its president Daniel Baroin, signed a cooperation agreement protocol on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, in Paris, the French capital. This agreement focuses on a joint project that prioritizes the best interests of the child, providing a favorable environment for their development and helping them overcome potential traumas.

According to a statement from the Tunisian Association of SOS Children's Villages, this agreement embodies the willingness of both parties to cooperate in:

  • Innovating alternative care for children and young people
  • Strengthening family capacities to prevent child separation
  • Supporting young people's autonomy
  • Improving the quality of accompaniment and access to employment opportunities
  • Mobilizing efforts to ensure high-quality services based on the participation of children and young people in decision-making processes that affect them

The statement adds that, although this agreement is not legally binding, it establishes a basis for the development of future framework agreements or specific partnerships in specialized areas of work. These areas include:

  • Implementing field activities in both countries
  • Exchanging expertise between professionals, children, and young people from both institutions
  • Mobilizing public and private financial resources
  • Conducting advocacy activities at the international level to support children's rights

The agreement is valid for two years and is renewable. It will also open new perspectives for Tunisians living in France to send donations to SOS Children's Villages Tunisia through SOS Children's Villages France, ensuring transparency and benefiting from tax advantages in France that encourage support for efforts dedicated to accompanying children deprived of family care or at risk of losing it in their country of origin (Tunisia).

It is worth noting that the strategic plan of the Tunisian Association of SOS Children's Villages for 2026 aims to increase the number of children and young people benefiting from its services from 7,000 currently to between 12,000 and 15,000 beneficiaries, depending on the volume of donations and support provided by Tunisians, both inside and outside the country.
