Tunisian Court Postpones Corruption Case Against Former Bar President
The specialized criminal chamber for financial corruption cases at the Tunis Court of First Instance has decided to postpone the examination of the case against former bar president and former president of the National Anti-Corruption Authority (INLUCC), Chawki Tabib.
Reasons for the Postponement
The lawyers for Chawki Tabib appeared before the criminal chamber today and submitted documents proving that their client had filed an appeal with the Court of Cassation against the decision of the indictment chamber that had ordered his referral to the specialized criminal chamber. The defense therefore requested the postponement of the hearing until the Court of Cassation rules on this appeal. Granting the defense's request, the court decided to postpone the examination of the case until next February.
