Tunisia's 2024-2025 Wheat Campaign Expected to See a 15-20% Increase
Promising Outlook for Tunisia's Wheat Harvest
According to expert Anis Ben Rayana, speaking on a private radio station, Tunisia's 2024-2025 wheat campaign is expected to see a significant increase of 15-20% compared to the previous season. This optimistic forecast is attributed to a notable improvement in water conditions and recent rainfall in March and April, which bodes well for a bountiful harvest.
Ben Rayana noted that, despite a slight decrease in sown areas from 1 million hectares in the previous season to 991,000 hectares this year, the expected yield is expected to range between 23-24 quintals, up from 19.8 quintals in the previous season.
If it weren't for the issue of fertilizers, Tunisia could potentially break production records, Ben Rayana concluded.
