Celebration of the 69th Anniversary of the National Guard

On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the creation of the National Guard, the National Guard Sports Club organized a spectacle on Saturday evening at the Carthage Amphitheater. The spectacle, hosted by singer Mortadha Ftiti, took place in the presence of the National Guard Commander and several General Directors of the Corps. On this occasion, the spokesperson for the National Guard General Directorate, Houssemeddine Jebabli, stated to the media that the September 6th spectacle celebrating the anniversary of the National Guard's creation has become an annual tradition. The commemoration of the institution's creation is an opportunity to highlight the achievements of the National Guard units as well as the challenges overcome to ensure the country's stability and defense, Jebabli said. He also looked back on the beginnings of the National Guard, which was created in 1956 and consisted of a core of 500 people from the "fallagas" and 500 others from Tunisian cities, among the militants for the country's independence. Active since 1970, the National Guard Sports Club has many champions who are part of national teams in all sports disciplines, some of whom have been crowned at the Olympic Games, the National Guard spokesperson indicated.
