Tunisian Sabiha Othmane Wins New Gold Medal at African Kayak and Canoe Championships

Tunisian athlete Sabiha Othmane offered Tunisia a new gold medal on Saturday morning at the African Championships of line racing kayak and canoe, categories Seniors, U23, and Juniors, held on the beaches of Luanda, Angola, from November 28 to 30.

The young Tunisian won first place in the junior girls' single kayak 500m, achieving a time of 2:24.20, ahead of Egyptian Gana Nasr (2:33.93) and Angolan Mafuta Camazaulo (2:43.31).

Sabiha Othmane also won the silver medal in the U23 category with a time of 2:20.28, behind Algerian Aya Farfad (2:19.92), and in the senior doubles category, alongside Hiba Boubaker, finishing the 500m race in 2:26.21, behind Algerians Anfel Arabi and Aya Farfad (2:07.49).

The Tunisian duo, Ons Bahroun and Farrah Naffeti, obtained the bronze medal in the junior girls' C2 500m, achieving a time of 5:53.10, behind the Egyptian duo Asma Ali-Gana Morsy (2:34.97) and the Senegalese duo Mame Diara-Sandrine Diaz (3:00.20).

On the first day, Mohamed Hmida won the gold medal in the Junior C1 1000m with a time of 05:20.82, while Mohamed Naffati won the bronze medal in the Junior K1 1000m (04:34.68).
