Disappointment for CAB Fans: New Recruits Fail to Deliver

The Press — In recent years, the large "yellow and black" public has constantly wondered who is behind the recruitment operation during the transfer periods. Indeed, the quality of players "imported" to CAB has been largely below expectations. However, with the lifting of the recruitment ban at the beginning of the current season, everyone thought that the team would be strengthened and, as a result, would play for a place of honor.

Neither the name of the recruited player nor their origin constituted a guarantee of future success. Only the truth on the field can judge whether the new recruit brings a plus or not. Today, we have entered the second third of the competition, and the recruits at CAB, both local and foreign, have still not delivered.

The Senegalese player, Mbaye, made a good impression against ASG by scoring two goals, including one on a penalty, but since then, nothing. His compatriot, Fonseca, was notable for his overly aggressive play, which earned him an expulsion against ASS, depriving CAB of a defensive midfielder against ST.

At the same time, Momar Diop has shown himself to be glaringly ineffective in front of goal since his arrival, while the Nigerian Ayende, relegated to the Elite team, has not brought anything more to the team and is still there. And, paradoxically, those who were the most prominent, namely Alhassan Konte and Abdou Seydi, have left for other clubs. As for Issa, called upon to replace Aalaeddine Dridi during the last match against the Stadistes du Bardo, he did not show much for the short time he played (one half-time).

No Improvement from New Recruits

The new local recruits have not done any better. We observe a long list, an impressive number of players who have joined the team without bringing any improvement. On the contrary, the performance of the Cabistes has become rather worrying given the performances provided by all these players. We have left the CAB door wide open to everyone. It's a constant coming and going, with no stability in the group, which is undoubtedly one of the main causes of this irregularity in sports results. Were these poor-quality choices dictated by limited means? Was the deficit, the debts to be honored, more or less the origin of these forced choices? Let's hope that CAB will get out of this situation as quickly as possible, which has been going on for too long.
