Club Africain Looks to Bounce Back Against USBG

The Club Africain is set to host the Union Sportive de Ben Guerdane (USBG) this afternoon in the 8th round of L1, seeking to get back on the winning track after a disappointing loss to ESM at Métlaoui.

Current Standing

With four wins, two losses, and one draw, the Club Africain's pre-balance sheet is still far from its pre-season promises, but not far from its current standards, which have been marked by a mixed performance. Currently ranked 4th in the standings, the Club Africain must now validate its position to avoid losing touch with the top teams.

Importance of the Match

Regardless of the content, to get back into the race for the podium, Faouzi Benzarti's men must absolutely beat the Union Sportive de Ben Guerdane. After the last misstep in the championship, the Club Africain must now move forward at Radès to maintain confidence and not leave room for doubt. It's also an opportunity to regain some momentum before the trip to Gabès to face ASG, scheduled for next Friday.

Team Lineup

After a slow period, despite a large victory against JSO just before the trip to Métlaoui, the Club Africain must now readjust its sights against USBG. The opportunity to relaunch against an opponent also in decline is therefore favorable today. To do this, Faouzi Benzarti hopes to regain defensive solidity, which has been too often absent since the beginning of the championship, as seen in the last trip to Métlaoui.

Predicted Starting Eleven

The predicted starting lineup includes:

  • Ghaïth Yeferni in goal
  • Ghaïth Zaâlouni (who has extended his contract until June 2028) on the right flank
  • Oussema Shlil on the opposite side
  • The pair Ali Youssef-Hamza Ben Abda in the axis
  • In midfield, with the absence of defensive midfielder Charfeddine Aoun, expelled in Métlaoui, Moataz Zemzemi would be associated with Sadok Mahmoud and hybrid midfielder Bilel Ait Malek
  • In attack, Hamza Khadhraoui would occupy the left corridor, Philippe Kinzumbi would start on the right wing, and Firas Chawat would start as a striker

Alternatives

The pivot Saidou Khan is on standby, as well as right winger Bassem Srarfi, left winger Fahd Mesmari, midfielder Ghaïth Sghaïer, right-back Houssem Hassan Ramadhan, and the two axials Taoufik Cherifi and Yassine Bouabid.

Note

Finally, recall that Libyan piston Osama El Shremi is not yet qualified, as the International Transfer Certificate has not yet arrived at the Club Africain's secretariat.
