Statement from the Municipality of Tunis – 25 February 2026
In a communiqué published on Wednesday, 25 February 2026, the municipality of Tunis called on all owners of establishments and businesses open to the public to take care of their façades and to carry out painting and whitening works.
This initiative is part of the city’s support for municipal efforts concerning cleanliness, environmental protection, and the preservation of urban aesthetics.
The municipality also invited merchants to:
- Maintain their external awnings (tents) and sunshades;
- Ensure the cleanliness of the immediate surroundings of their premises.
Finally, the municipality emphasized that any violation of the provisions set out in this communiqué will expose the offender to regulatory and legal measures, as well as financial penalties.
