Body of Woman Swept Away by Floods Found in Tunisia
The body of a woman, born in 1969, who was swept away by the floods of the Dzira wadi on Sunday evening, was found on Monday morning near the El Koudia agricultural complex, in the delegation of Bou Salem (Jendouba governorate), at the site of a hydraulic structure installation.
Search and Rescue Efforts
Civil protection teams, supported by forestry workers and volunteers from the Essaki douar (El Koudia locality), resumed the search from the early hours of the morning. The strong current and darkness had prevented rescuers from locating the victim the previous day.
Circumstances of the Incident
According to initial reports, the woman had attempted to save her four sheep before being swept away by the floodwaters, which were flowing at an unusual speed. The El Koudia locality was hit by flooding on Sunday evening, caused by torrential rains that fell on Mount Kraâ, in the Tébar delegation.
