| Peas (fresh) | 4 dinars |
| Deglet Nour dates | 2 – 7 dinars (up to 10 dinars for premium quality) |
“The price of leafy vegetables fluctuates between 200 and 500 millimes, peas are sold at 4 dinars, and Deglet Nour dates range from 2 to 7 dinars per kilogram, reaching 10 dinars for top‑grade fruit.” – Samir Abid
Opposition’s response
MP Syrine Mrabet denounced a gap between these official tariffs and the prices actually paid by consumers. She highlighted:
- Discrepancies reported by traders on the ground.
- Conditional sales practices that inflate final costs.
- A call for stronger, unannounced and regular market inspections to ensure better regulation.
“We need more frequent surprise checks to guarantee that the market respects the official price framework and protects consumers,” Mrabet urged.
