Minister of Equipment and Housing Launches Road Reinforcement Project
The Minister of Equipment and Housing, Slah Zouari, launched on Thursday the project to reinforce National Road No. 3 over a length of 8 km in the governorates of Ben Arous and Zaghouan. This project has a budget of 28 million dinars, co-financed by the state budget and the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (FADES).
Project Details
The works consist mainly of:
- Rebuilding hydraulic structures
- Developing and asphaltizing watercourses and interlocking pavers
- Installing a 7 km long concrete insulation belt
- Developing sidewalks, strengthening roads, and installing horizontal and vertical signage
Managing Runoff Water
According to the minister, these works could help manage runoff water, reduce the risk of flooding, and improve road user safety.
Maintenance Works in Bouchouata
In Zaghouan, the Minister of Equipment and Housing visited the Bouchouata locality in the Zriba delegation, where he was briefed on the progress of maintenance works on the Ain Akka rural road. These works have advanced by 50% over a length of 4 km.
Project Scope
The project includes:
- Creating a base layer using quarry materials
- Reinforcing river crossings over 600 square meters
- Installing 3 concrete structures and watercourses over a length of 4,000 meters
- Protecting the road with 800 meters of interlocking pavers, in addition to coating a 6-meter wide surface and installing sign panels
