Construction of Oued Meliane Bridge: Company Commits to Completing Project by End of Year
The company responsible for finalizing the construction of a bridge over Oued Meliane, on regional road n°36, has committed to completing the work by the end of the current year. This commitment was made following a site visit conducted yesterday, Wednesday, by the regional governor, Abdelhamid Boukadida, accompanied by several regional officials. The project has faced certain problems that caused delays and exceeded contractual deadlines, particularly with regards to the relocation of public utility networks and the liberation of the project's land area. These issues affected the pace of work, which was able to resume its normal rhythm after being largely resolved. After being informed of the various components of the project, the governor emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of work and ensure its completion before the end of 2025. He recommended that the technical services of the regional directorate of equipment and housing strengthen control operations and take necessary measures in case of non-compliance with commitments. The project, with an initial cost of 5.5 million dinars, aims to build a 72-meter-long bridge on deep foundations over Oued Meliane, on regional road n°36, as well as to widen and develop the road over a linear distance of 750 meters.
