Tunisia Reiterates Commitment to Human Rights and Equality at UN General Assembly

Tunisia has underscored its unwavering commitment to human rights and equality during the 80th session of the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Affairs) of the United Nations General Assembly, calling for these values to be at the heart of multilateral action.

For Tunisia, the 80th anniversary of the creation of the UN is an opportunity to strengthen international cooperation and consolidate solidarity among peoples in favor of just and inclusive development, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Tunisia has also expressed its support for the right to development, considered the foundation of justice and progress, as well as its commitment to continuing national efforts to empower women and girls and strengthen their participation in public life, within the framework of a vision based on social justice and human dignity.

Furthermore, Tunisia has expressed its total solidarity with the Palestinian people in the face of the humanitarian tragedy in the Gaza Strip, calling on the international community to assume its responsibility to ensure the permanence of the ceasefire, lift the blockade imposed by the Zionist entity, and accelerate the delivery of humanitarian aid.
