Banking Network Slightly Expands, Reaching 2,064 Agencies by End of 2024
The banking agency network has slightly consolidated, increasing from 2,041 agencies at the end of 2023 to 2,064 at the end of 2024, which translates to one agency for every 5,800 inhabitants, compared to one agency for every 5,806 inhabitants the previous year, according to the 2024 Annual Report on Banking Supervision, published on Saturday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

Digital Banking Trends
- The number of bank cards issued by the end of 2024 stands at 5.5 million, representing a 21.4% decrease compared to 2023, due to a cleanup operation of inactive cards.
- In contrast, the number of ATMs has continued to grow, with an average annual growth rate of 3% over the past five years, reaching 3,305 units by the end of 2024.
