President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, Addresses Key Issues with Head of Government
The President of the Republic, Kaïs Saïed, met with the Head of Government, Sarra Zaafrani Zenzeri, at the Carthage Palace on September 8 to discuss the overall functioning of the government and several economic and social projects.
Preparing for the Upcoming School Year
The President gave instructions for a successful preparation of the upcoming school and university year, pending the establishment of the Higher Council for Education and Teaching, and the introduction of fundamental reforms in this area.
Recognizing Citizen Engagement
The President praised the efforts of many citizens across the country who have taken care of educational institutions, convinced that there is no future for Tunisia without knowledge and education. This contribution and voluntary commitment mark the beginning of a revolution of minds, which is the first step towards any reform and the establishment of a new relationship between citizens and state institutions.
Simplifying Administrative Procedures
The President emphasized that the administration as a whole must work to simplify procedures, rather than creating artificial obstacles that hinder the delivery of services to users. He warned that some individuals and lobbies, who receive orders from abroad, are trying to disrupt the functioning of public services and create tensions. However, he assured that they will be held accountable, just like their predecessors who tried to undermine the state from within and plunder the country's resources.
Ongoing Efforts for Reform
The President highlighted that the government's action will continue, not only to restructure several institutions but also to enable young people, in particular, to access their legitimate right to work, while reducing the number of unnecessary public establishments that drain the state's finances.
