Ministry of Interior Calls for Alternative Routes to Ensure Smooth Traffic Flow on First Day of School

The Ministry of Interior has urged users of the southern entrance to the capital to use alternative routes to avoid any disruptions and contribute to the smooth flow of traffic on the occasion of the start of the 2025/2026 school year. In a statement, the ministry recalled that the proposed solutions are necessary due to the intense traffic expected on many axes starting from Monday, September 15, 2025, particularly at the southern entrance where development work is ongoing, at the time of the return of road users from the interior of the country to the capital.

Alternative Routes Suggested:

The following alternative routes are recommended:

  • Use National Road No. 1 by entering through the Radès stadium turn, then the Cité Nouvelle intersection, the Choucha Radès intersection, from which they can join the Radès-La Goulette bridge before heading towards the city center or the northern suburbs. Another option is to take the turn from the Housing Bank towards the Choucha Radès bridge.
  • Take the Lacania bridge and cross the El Ouardia 1 and 2 intersections towards Bab Alioua Square, then the Rivoli bridge, Moncef Bey Street, until Maghreb Arabe Street (Z4 road).

Ministry of Interior Appeals to Road Users to Respect Traffic Rules

The Ministry of Interior has also called on all road users to respect the highway code, traffic rules, and road safety principles. The ministry emphasized that all necessary human and material resources for guidance and assistance have been mobilized.
