Enhanced Public Transportation for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
The public transportation fleet for the 2025-2026 academic year has been reinforced by 53% for buses used on regular lines, 20% for the fleet dedicated to transporting schoolchildren and students, and 30% for rail transportation. This announcement was made by the Tunis Transportation Society (TRANSTU) on Monday, as the company awaits the rehabilitation of 7 additional metro wagons by the end of 2025.
Key Enhancements
- The company has mobilized 750 buses, including:
- 140 buses for school and university transportation
- 68 wagons ready for operation on the rail network, comprising:
- 56 metro wagons
- 12 TGM train wagons
- This represents a significant increase from the start of the previous academic year, which saw 490 buses, including 120 for school and university transportation, and 52 wagons.
