French Institute of Tunisia Presents a Literary & Musical Evening for “Layali Ramadan”
Date: Wednesday, 11 March – 21:00
Location: French Institute of Tunisia (IFT) – Night opening of the institute’s media library
Overview
As part of the “Layali Ramadan” cultural programme, the French Institute of Tunisia (IFT) continues its Ramadan‑month agenda with a special evening dedicated to contemporary literature. The event will spotlight Tunisian author Wafa Ghorbel and her newly released novel Fleurir (Kalima Editions, 2024).
What to Expect
- Literary reading with a musical twist – excerpts from Fleurir will be performed in a spoken‑word format, accompanied by live music from musician Hichem Ktari.
- Facilitated discussion – Myriam Bouabid, a PhD candidate and avid reader of Ghorbel’s work, will moderate a dialogue about the novel’s themes, the author’s literary journey, and invite audience participation.
- Family‑friendly atmosphere – The institute’s media library will stay open late for the night, offering a relaxed, convivial setting.
- Parallel activities for all ages – Board‑games, storytelling sessions, and other inter‑generational programmes will run alongside the main event, encouraging community interaction around books and culture.
