A Mosaic of Watercolors, Oil Paintings, Drawings, Sculptures, Photographs, and Art Tapestries

The exhibition owes its title to the color gradients that these works combine. The collective exhibition "Values and Colors" will take place from October 11 to 31, 2025, at the Aïn les jardins de Salammbô gallery in Kram, on the occasion of the gallery's 39th anniversary. The exhibition will feature the participation of sculptor Hechmi Marzoug and artists Zohra Largueche, Rénata Dlimi, Bady Chouchene, Ali Fakhet, Rached Chtioui, Mohamed Ayeb, and Mokhtar Hnene, with a vernissage scheduled for Saturday, October 11 at 6:00 pm.

A Diverse Exhibition

This exhibition will present to the public a mosaic of watercolors, oil paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and art tapestries, and it owes its title to the color gradients that these works combine, according to gallery owner and photographer Mohamed Ayeb. The guest of honor at this exhibition is Italian artist Rénata Dlimi, whose works are artistic tapestries that revolve around the environment and the ocean, as well as signs and symbols.

A Meeting of Generations

The exhibition brings together works by artists from different generations to shed light on their creations, starting with the first generation of post-independence artists from the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Tunis (Isbat). Sculptor Hechmi Marzoug, from the first generation of Isbat in the 1960s, will exhibit marble sculptures, including one from Chemtou, as well as bronze works. His sculptures address the aesthetics of the female body and the movement of dance.

Featured Artists

  • Artist Zohra Largueche, from the same generation as Hechmi Marzoug, will present watercolors illustrating life in the Medina.
  • Artist Mokhtar Hnene, also from the same generation and a specialist in oil painting, will present works addressing the same theme, namely daily life and scenes from urban life in the medinas of Tunis and Bizerte.
  • In a continuity between different generations of visual artists, the exhibition presents works from the generation of the 1980s from Isbat, represented by Bady Chouchene, who treats daily life in the Medina and adds a dynamic and gestural touch with a semi-abstract approach to his work.
  • Artist Ali Fakhet, a specialist in drawing and watercolor, participates with subjects that revolve around the horse and Arab horsemen in a ride inspired by miniature art.
  • Artist Rached Chtioui also focuses on the dynamic aspect of art through abstraction. His oil paintings in abstraction rely on geometric shapes, such as squares, lines, and their interaction, as well as on values and color gradients that reflect the depth and dimension of his works for a lyrical abstract painting.
  • Mohamed Ayeb will present works where plastic photography interacts with contemporary technologies, where subjects range from heritage to current events.

Vernissage and Book Presentation

The vernissage of the exhibition will be marked by a presentation of the art book of sculptor Hechmi Marzoug, an iconic figure in the visual arts in Tunisia, notably for his sculpture of the equestrian statue of former President Habib Bourguiba.
