Fifteen Tunisian citizens, members of the international "Soumoud" flotilla, arrived this afternoon at Tunis-Carthage International Airport, after being released and expelled by the Israeli occupation authorities. Their repatriation was carried out via Jordan, after they crossed the King Hussein Bridge on Tuesday morning.
The individuals who were welcomed back include:
- Syrine Gharairi
- Fidaa Othmani
- Mohab Sanoussi
- Mazen Abdel Laoui
- Louay Charni
- Khalil Habibi
- Achraf Khoja
- Jihad Ferjani
- Nabil Chennoufi
- Mohamed Amine Hamzaoui
- Yassine Kaaidi
- Wael Nouar
- Ghassen Hnachiri
- Ghassen Klaïi
- Mohamed Ali
Upon their arrival, they were received by hundreds of citizens, relatives, activists, and members of civil society, who came to express their solidarity and pride in an atmosphere marked by emotion, singing, Tunisian and Palestinian flags, and slogans in favor of freedom for Gaza and justice for Palestine.
For reference, all members of the Soumoud flotilla had been intercepted and arrested by Israeli forces on October 1 and 2, 2025, as they attempted to peacefully break the blockade imposed on the Gaza Strip. They were transferred to the Ketzioth detention center in the Negev desert before being released in successive waves since last weekend.
This flotilla, carried by an international collective of human rights activists, aimed to denounce the illegal siege of Gaza and convey a message of international solidarity to the Palestinian population.
