27-Year-Old Suspect, Identified as Mohamed Mohedi, aka "Moewgli," Arrested in Tunisia
A 27-year-old man, identified by Swedish media as Mohamed Mohedi, alias "Moewgli," who is suspected of being part of a major crime network in Sweden, has been arrested in Tunisia, according to multiple converging media and police sources.
According to information relayed by the Swedish public television SVT and picked up by several European media outlets, the suspect is one of the individuals being sought in connection with a probe into serious crimes, including a murder committed in January 2023 in Skogås, south of Stockholm. A 15-year-old boy was shot dead in a sushi restaurant, a case considered one of the violent episodes linked to the clashes between crime networks in Sweden.
The suspect, described as a key member of the Foxtrot network (a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking and armed violence in Sweden), was also being sought for other serious offenses, according to Swedish authorities. He was also listed on the European list of most wanted fugitives.
According to SVT, the man had left Sweden several years ago and settled in Tunisia. Swedish authorities stated that they had been informed by their Tunisian counterparts of his arrest, as part of an international security cooperation.
The Swedish prosecutor in charge of the case had previously emphasized that several individuals could be prosecuted for murder under the concept of "extended criminal liability," even without directly committing the crime.
Before being involved in judicial affairs, the suspect was also known in the music scene under an artistic name, having collaborated with some Swedish rap artists.
The arrest, if confirmed by Tunisian and Swedish authorities in upcoming judicial procedures, could pave the way for a request for extradition to Sweden, where he faces multiple charges related to violent crimes and organized crime.
