French Authorities Arrest Two Men in Connection with Louvre Jewelry Heist
French authorities arrested two men on Saturday evening in connection with the theft of historical jewelry from the Louvre Museum, which occurred on October 19. One of the suspects was apprehended around 10 pm at Charles de Gaulle Airport, as he was preparing to board a flight to a foreign destination, while the second was arrested shortly after in Paris, according to Le Parisien and Paris Match. The two men have been placed in custody for "organized gang theft and formation of a criminal gang". They are believed to be members of a group of four individuals who stole jewelry from the French Crown collection, estimated to be worth around 88 million euros. Aged in their thirties and from Seine-Saint-Denis, the suspects are known to French law enforcement. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the other members of the group.
