Finance Committee of the People's Representatives Assembly to Conduct Audit on Loan Usage
The finance committee of the People's Representatives Assembly has decided to conduct control and audit operations on the use of loans approved since 2023 to date. According to its president, Maher Kettari, 70% of the loans contracted by the Tunisian state have been directed towards infrastructure projects. The committee has begun to catalog the approved projects in order to conduct field visits and verify the allocation of credits validated in plenary sessions.
In a statement on the "Yahdouth fi Tounes" program broadcast on the National Radio on Thursday, February 12, 2026, Maher Kettari specified that the finance committee has started to catalog the projects approved during the mentioned period in order to conduct field visits and verify the use and expenditure of financial credits approved in plenary sessions. The president of the committee revealed that 70% of the approved and received loans by the Tunisian state have been oriented towards infrastructure projects.
