Seizure of Subsidized Flour in Ariana
The economic control services of the Regional Directorate of Trade and Export Development in Ariana seized 4.7 tons of subsidized flour in a classified bakery in the delegation of El Mnihla last Saturday.
The Regional Director of Trade in Ariana, Sami El Béjaoui, explained to the Tunis-Afrique Press (TAP) agency that this infringement was discovered after it was proven that the bakery had not transformed its share of subsidized flour into bread and had suspended its activity, despite the availability of flour.
The official specified that procedures are underway to draw up an investigation report for non-compliance with subsidy regulations. The seized flour quantities will be reinjected into the legal circuits to avoid any disruption to the bread supply, and their value will be returned to the public treasury.
Furthermore, an administrative sanction was taken against the establishment: the bakery is now prohibited from being supplied with subsidized flour until it regularizes its legal situation.
