Tunisia to Participate in Arab Table Tennis Team Championship

According to Ghazi Ben Hassen, technical advisor to the Tunisian Table Tennis Federation, Tunisia will participate in the Arab Table Tennis Team Championship (including individual, doubles, and team events for all age categories) taking place in Morocco from September 11 to 18.

In a statement made today to the TAP press agency, Ben Hassen indicated that the Tunisian elite will be represented by six athletes. The delegation includes:

  • For girls under 15: Alaa Saïdi and Mariem Brahimi
  • For boys: Wacim Essaïd (17 years old), Youssef Ben Miled, Moumen Sghir (13 years old), and Ahmed Jebali (11 years old)

Ben Hassen specified that these six athletes will participate in the individual events of their age category, as well as in team competitions (girls under 15 and boys under 13). He also added that, according to the rules of the Arab Federation, two athletes can participate in the team competition.

The Tunisian players will also take part in doubles events (girls under 15 and boys under 13), in addition to Wacim Essaïd and Alaa Saïdi's participation in the mixed doubles event for under 19.

The Tunisian team will be supervised by coach Ghazi Belkahia.

Moreover, Ghazi Ben Hassen announced that Tunisia will host the International Junior Tournament from October 8 to 11, before organizing the African Nations Championship for seniors from October 12 to 19 of the same month.
