Tunisia Wins Final Group A Match in Arab FIFA Cup 2025 but Fails to Qualify
Tunisia won its last match in Group A of the Arab FIFA Cup 2025, defeating Qatar 3-0, but this victory was not enough to secure qualification. The Carthage Eagles were ultimately eliminated due to the 0-0 draw between Palestine and Syria.
The Tunisian team opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a goal from Mohamed Ali Ben Romdhane. In the second half, Yassine Meriah doubled the lead in the 62nd minute, before Ben Ali scored the third Tunisian goal in added time, in the 95th minute, sealing a convincing and decisive victory.
Despite this convincing win, Tunisia's fate depended on the outcome of the other group match. The match between Palestine and Syria, which had to avoid a draw to allow the Tunisians to qualify, ultimately ended in a goalless draw (0-0).
In the final standings, Palestine finished first with 5 points, tied with Syria, who also had 5 points but trailed behind in goal difference. Tunisia ranked third with 4 points and thus exited the competition in the group stage.
