National Heritage Preservation Efforts: Large-Scale Cleaning Campaign

As part of its strategy to enhance the national heritage and protect archaeological sites and monuments, the Agency for the Valorization of Heritage and Cultural Promotion (AMVPPC), under the supervision of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, is organizing a major cleaning campaign covering key historical sites and monuments in Le Bardo, the Medina, Carthage, and Oudhna throughout the month of October.

According to a publication by the Agency on its official Facebook page, this national initiative aims to improve the environment of archaeological sites, reflecting the value of Tunisia's civilizational and cultural heritage.

The initiative also seeks to enhance the visitor experience by offering clean and safe spaces that highlight the historical importance of the sites, and to instill values of belonging and social responsibility within various components of civil society for the preservation and promotion of heritage.

In this context, the Agency has called on all individuals interested in national heritage - citizens, cultural associations, and educational institutions - to actively participate in this initiative, which embodies the collective consciousness of the importance of protecting and preserving heritage as a pillar of national identity and sustainable cultural development.

The AMVPPC emphasized that the launch of this campaign reaffirms its constant commitment to valorizing archaeological sites and monuments so that they remain a honorable civilizational and historical reference for Tunisia at both local and international levels.
