Kuwait Announces Exceptional Preventive Measures Amid Regional Security Concerns
The authorities of Kuwait have announced a series of exceptional preventive measures, including the suspension of all sporting activities and the cancellation of Tarawih prayers in every mosque across the country until further notice, due to recent security developments in the region.
These decisions aim to ensure the safety and protection of the population amid rising regional tensions. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has decided to maintain only the Isha prayer in mosques, while suspending the nightly Tarawih prayers as a precautionary measure.
At the same time, the General Sports Authority has ordered the immediate halt of all official competitions, tournaments, and public‑involved sports activities, effective until further notice.
Sports federations and clubs have been instructed to strictly comply with these directives. Authorities emphasized that the situation will be continuously assessed in coordination with the relevant bodies.
Furthermore, the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology has assured that telecommunication networks are operating normally, without interruption. It stated that an emergency plan has been activated as a preventive step to guarantee service continuity and infrastructure availability under all circumstances.
These measures come against a backdrop of heightened regional tensions, prompting several Gulf countries to strengthen their security and prevention mechanisms.
