FITT Pledges to Support Alternative Tourism and Explore New Unconventional Destinations

The Tunisian Interprofessional Tourism Federation (FITT) is committed to supporting alternative tourism and exploring new, non-conventional destinations, according to Walid Tritar, the newly elected president of the federation.

Speaking at the occasion of the election of the new board of directors, Tritar emphasized that the team, composed of experts in health tourism, bed and breakfast owners, and travel agents, will work to find new solutions and resources to support Tunisian tourism, particularly domestic tourism.

According to him, the action strategy for the 2026-2029 period is in line with the diversification of the tourist product, focusing on exploring the riches of non-traditional regions, in order to present a varied offer encompassing cultural, historical, and artisanal aspects, in collaboration with travel agencies.

In this context, Tritar recalled that the Federation organized a working workshop bringing together bed and breakfast owners and travel agents to discuss means of collaboration, as well as the creation of a B2B platform bringing together all stakeholders in the sector.

Tritar also mentioned other objectives set for this new mandate, citing the follow-up of the effective application of the charter of requirements related to bed and breakfasts, as well as the integration of travel agencies operating as tour operators, the tourism animation sector, and event organizers.

Following the elections of the new board of directors of the federation on Saturday, May 9, 2026, the new board is composed of:

  • Walid Tritar, President
  • Shahla Kakhia and Marwen Noureddine, Vice-Presidents
