Tunis Municipality Announces Call for Applications for the Ali Belhouane Literary Prize 2026
The municipality of Tunis has opened the nomination period for Tunisian writers who wish to compete for the Ali Belhouane Literary Prize of the city of Tunis for the 2026 edition, worth 7,000 Tunisian dinars. The deadline for submitting applications is April 3 , 2026.
Eligibility & Submission Requirements
According to the official announcement, participation in this year’s prize—dedicated to historical studies and research on the city of Tunis—is subject to several conditions:

About the Ali Belhouane Prize
The Ali Belhouane Prize was created in 1960 by the municipality of Tunis to honor Ali Belhouane, a prominent activist of the national movement, Arabic professor at the Sadiki Institute, leader of the Tunisian national youth engaged in the anti‑colonial struggle, and president of the city council in 1958.
The prize is awarded in several categories:
