According to the SNTF, each passenger must present a valid Algerian passport. Payment of the travel tax, available at all reservation stations, is also a mandatory condition for boarding. These measures aim to harmonize procedures and streamline border controls.
Baggage Allowance and Excess
The company reminds passengers that they can transport up to 30 kg of baggage free of charge. Exceeding this threshold will result in the excess being handled in a dedicated cargo compartment, subject to an additional tariff. Tickets and Reservations
Passengers can now purchase tickets up to seven days before departure. Return tickets remain valid for three months but require confirmation of the return journey within seven days of ticket issuance. The SNTF specifies that these reservation services are available at train stations in Algiers, Oran, Sétif, El Eulma, Constantine, Annaba, and Souk Ahras.
Currency Exchange and Tourist Allocation
A currency exchange office operates at the Souk Ahras train station, allowing passengers to benefit from the tourist allocation of 750 euros. This transaction must be carried out through an authorized bank, with the exchange right issued at the official rate. The SNTF advises passengers to anticipate these procedures to avoid any complications during their departure.
