International Train Schedule and Fares: Algeria to Tunisia
The National Society of Railway Transport (SNTF) has published the schedules and fares for the international train connecting Algeria to Tunisia. This service, which has resumed after several adjustments, offers travelers a practical and economical alternative to travel from Annaba to Tunis and vice versa.
Regular Service with Competitive Fares
The train departing from Annaba runs on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 09:00, arriving in the Tunisian capital at 18:27, serving several key cities: Souk Ahras, Ghardimaou, Jendouba, and Béja. In the other direction, the train departing from Tunis runs on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 08:25, arriving in Annaba at 18:20.
Border Crossing Formalities
Border crossing formalities are carried out at the international station of Souk Ahras on the Algerian side and at the Ghardimaou station on the Tunisian side. Tickets are available at several stations, including Annaba, Souk Ahras, Oran, and Constantine, providing practical accessibility for travelers.
Fares
The proposed fares are considered competitive:
- First class: 1,900 DZD
- Second class: 1,640 DZD
- Round-trip tickets: 3,485 DZD (first class) and 3,040 DZD (second class) The SNTF reminds travelers that transportation is free for children under 4 years old, and a 50% discount is applied for children between 4 and 12 years old.
