Nine Dead and Ten Injured in Bus Crash
Nine people have lost their lives and ten others have been injured, several of them seriously, in a road accident that occurred on Saturday, December 6, 2025, in the wilaya of Béni Abbès, in southwestern Algeria, according to the Civil Protection services.
Accident Details
The tragedy took place on National Road No. 50, which connects Tabelbala to Béchar, when a passenger bus skidded before overturning, resulting in a particularly heavy toll.
Rescue Efforts
The rescue teams intervened at 1:50 p.m. to care for the victims before evacuating the injured to the local hospital. The authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances and causes of this deadly accident.
Context
National Road 50 is considered one of the most accident-prone axes in southwestern Algeria, due to the length of the journeys, the difficulty of the routes, and the significant traffic of inter-wilaya buses.
