Travel Between Algeria and Tunisia Becomes More Accessible for Algerian Tourists Thanks to the Launch of New Regular International Bus Lines
The Tunisian National Intercity Transport Company (SNTRI) has announced an initiative that will allow travelers to connect directly several Tunisian and Algerian cities by land, offering a practical alternative to air or rail travel.
-
First route: Tunis ↔ Algiers
- First departure: 12 March 2026
- Frequency: Two round‑trips per week in each direction
- Intermediate stops: Le Kef, Tajerouine, Constantine, and Sétif, facilitating access to various regions of Algeria.
-
Second route: Tunis ↔ Annaba
- First departure: 13 March 2026
- Frequency: Four round‑trips per week, serving Algeria’s far‑eastern area.
This new offering complements existing transport options to Tunisia and responds to the growing demand from Algerian families, students, and tourists who are looking for a more convenient and economical way to travel.
According to SNTRI, these lines will also help strengthen tourism and cultural cooperation between the neighboring countries.
Travel requirements: Passengers must present a valid passport. The company has also assured that measures will be taken to guarantee comfort and safety throughout the journey, which will cover several hundred kilometres across urban and rural zones.
The initiative is seen as a lever to boost regional tourism and ease mobility for road travelers between Algeria and Tunisia. Tunisian and Algerian media have widely reported the news, highlighting that the opening of these routes represents a significant step forward for land travel, especially for families and travelers who wish to avoid the constraints of flights and trains.
