The Press — When the News Broke, Many Observers Were Somewhat Skeptical
When the information was released, many observers were somewhat skeptical. What would our young world champion do in the lion's den? Indeed, going to prepare for the upcoming Olympic Games in the United States, where his greatest opponents are, was it a good choice? Apparently, we have reason to ask ourselves this question. But that's just an appearance. In this great country, elitism is at the forefront of everything that is done. Values are respected, and justice is rendered to all those who earn respect through their talent and diligence.
The emergence of Ahmed Jaouadi at the beginning of the winter season has proven that our young champion knew what to expect. He quickly established himself as a flag bearer for his university. His times have spoken in favor of his great value. The world title suited him like a glove.
Mastering his subject perfectly, he quickly made a name for himself. To the point of updating the records of competitions that count enormously for universities in different states. And it's only fair that he was chosen as the most performing athlete of the start of the season.
Incredible Career! Our world champion continued his incredible career in the pools of Florida, USA, during the university competitions in the 25-yard pool. Last week, he faced the University of Georgia. Ahmed participated in the 1000 yards freestyle on Friday and the 500 yards freestyle on Saturday.
At 1000 yards, Ahmed achieved a remarkable time, establishing the best time of the 2025/2026 university season with 8 minutes 36 seconds 65, just two seconds away from the American university record held by American swimmer Clark Smith since December 2015 (8 minutes 33 seconds 93).
This impressive performance comes at the beginning of his American adventure, and Ahmed will have many opportunities to break the American university record and write his name in the annals, already rich in world and Olympic champions of various nationalities. On Saturday, without surprise, Ahmed Jaouadi won the 500 yards freestyle in 4 minutes 15 seconds 82, confirming his previous record set against the University of Virginia: 4 minutes 14 seconds 94.
For information, the finals of the 2025/2026 university championships will take place at the Georgia University Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Georgia, from March 25 to 28, 2026. Ahmed Jaouadi has simply played his cards right. Given his intrinsic value and prodigious margin of progress, he had nothing to fear, and the fact of being alongside swimmers who do not cheat on effort puts him at a level where he earns respect.
At the end of this impressive entry, we will, of course, have an appointment with the 50-meter pool season, and there everything will be clearer.
