Decision of the National Professional Football League
The governing body of the National Professional Football League made a decision today to award a 2-0 victory to Club Africain against Club Athlétique Bizertin. This decision follows the incidents that occurred during the match held on August 27, as part of the fourth day of League 1. The League also imposed other sanctions on Club Athlétique Bizertin, including playing their next three away matches without an audience, on a field to be designated by the Tunisian Football Federation or the National Professional Football League. In addition, a fine of 20,000 dinars was imposed due to the projectiles thrown by CAB supporters, which injured the second assistant referee in the head. The main referee consequently decided to permanently stop the match after consulting the captains of the two teams and the representatives of the League.
Consequences of the Decision
Following this decision, Club Africain moves up to 9 points and positions itself in second place in the League 1 standings, while Club Athlétique Bizertin remains at 2 points and occupies fourteenth place.
Postponement of a Protest Examination
Meanwhile, the League decided to postpone the examination of the protest filed by Club Sportif Sfaxien against Espérance Sportive de Zarzis regarding the match that opposed them on August 10. The postponement was justified by the need to study the reports and evidence submitted to the League office by Club Sfaxien today. Club Sportif Sfaxien had filed a reservation concerning the participation of ES Zarzis player, Jassem Belkilani. As a reminder, this match had ended with a 2-1 victory for Espérance Sportive de Zarzis over Club Sportif Sfaxien in Sfax, during the opening day of the League.
