Tunisian swimmer Habiba Belghith continues to write history at the 2026 African Swimming Championships in Oran, Algeria. On Friday, she clinched another gold medal by winning the 50m breaststroke seniors with a time of 32.44, securing an exceptional triple gold at this continental competition.

Habiba Belghith confirms her status as the best African breaststroke swimmer. Following her victories in the 100m breaststroke seniors (1:12.05) and the 200m breaststroke seniors (2:37.53) in the previous days, the Tunisian has achieved a grand slam in her discipline, solidifying her position as an uncontested dominator of the women's breaststroke on the African continent.
Other Medals for Tunisia
The Tunisian team continues to shine in Oran. Kenza Chaachaï won another bronze medal by finishing third in the 100m backstroke juniors with a time of 1:05.15, following a first bronze obtained on Thursday in the 50m backstroke juniors. Young Ilef Omri also climbed onto the podium by winning the bronze medal in the 50m breaststroke juniors with a time of 34.17.

These achievements are complemented by Youssef Douma's silver medal, obtained on Wednesday in the 800m freestyle juniors with a time of 8:15.20.
Tunisia Well-Represented Until May 10
The Tunisian team, consisting of nine swimmers, continues its participation in these championships, which will run until May 10, 2026. The team includes two senior representatives – Habiba Belghith and Kenza Chaachaï – as well as seven junior swimmers: Mohamed Yassine Ben Ajmia, Youssef Douma, Israa Aouam, Ilef Omri, Ilef Zouaghi, Zeineb Ben Taher, and Kmar Derbal.
