The Tunisian Agency for Housing (AFH) Continues to Implement Numerous Projects
The Tunisian Agency for Housing (AFH) is continuing to implement numerous projects aimed at providing housing plots to Tunisians in various regions of the Republic, in addition to programming other projects, with the goal of covering needs and contributing to strengthening the state's efforts in providing housing. This was confirmed by Sami Nasr, Head of Information and Communication at the Agency, on Tuesday, November 25, 2025.
Recent Achievements
During his intervention on National Radio, Sami Nasr indicated that the Agency had developed 117 hectares over the past five years, highlighting that 10% of Tunisians reside on land developed by the Agency.
Ongoing and Future Projects
The official added that the Agency is currently working on the implementation of more than 52 housing projects across the Republic, including the Jardins de Siliana (116 ha) and Siliana Nouvelle (33 ha), specifying that notifications of allocation have begun to be sent to a number of citizens.
Meeting National Needs
The radio guest discussed programmed projects, explaining that based on indicators from the last housing census and expected needs by 2030 (the next census), national needs amount to approximately 17,000 hectares. He continued, stating that programmed projects cover 11,360 hectares across the Republic, which will enable the AFH to meet about 65% of the needs.
Services and Amenities
He emphasized that the plots are equipped with all basic services (connection to water, electricity, and other amenities), adding that plots can be individual or collective (intended for entrepreneurs and vertical construction).
Upcoming Projects
He indicated that the start of several projects is imminent in Nabeul, in the Greater Tunis area (the South Urban Center and Sejoumi), and in Tozeur, among others.
Registration and Eligibility
Regarding the registration method and conditions for benefiting from a plot (land) intended for building a home, the Head of Information at the AFH specified that registration is done remotely via the official website: https://www.afh.nat.tn/ar/, and that file tracking is possible through the same address. The main condition for benefiting from a plot is not owning any plot or house in the entire Republic, noting that the waiting period between registration and obtaining land cannot be determined in advance.
Demand and Pricing
He revealed that the governorates of Greater Tunis are experiencing strong pressure in terms of demand, unlike the lack of pressure on plots located inside the country, such as the Maktaris lot in Makthar in the Siliana governorate. As for prices, Sami Nasr emphasized that the Agency's prices represent a quarter or a third of market prices, noting that price fixing is determined by cost.
Support for Social Housing
The speaker also highlighted that the Agency supports social housing and has provided more than 35 hectares for the special social housing program, in addition to engaging in procedures for acquiring certain lands under the decision related to buying land at a preferential price.
