Tunisian actress Afef Ben Mahmoud has won the Best Actress award in the Horizons of Cinema competition at the 46th edition of the Cairo International Film Festival for her role in the film La 13e Round (الجولة 13) directed by Mohamed Ali Nahdi.
Film Synopsis
The film tells the story of Kamal (played by Helmi Dridi), a famous African boxer who has left the spotlight to lead a peaceful life with his wife Soumaya (played by Afef Ben Mahmoud) and their young child. However, the family's life takes a turn when the child is faced with a sudden illness, plunging the father into a harsh internal conflict between strength and collapse, and between hope and the fear of loss.
