National Football Team Coach Announces Upcoming Plans
The national football team coach, Sami Trabelsi, announced on Tuesday that the list of players selected for the Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled to take place from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026, in Morocco, will be revealed on December 10 or 11.
Preparations for the Tournament
In an interview with the TAP agency, Trabelsi specified that the players will travel to Qatar, where they will begin their preparation for the continental tournament. He emphasized that he will personally lead the training sessions scheduled in Doha, in parallel with those of the team selected for the Arab Cup.
Friendly Matches
Trabelsi denied reports of a friendly match against Senegal scheduled for December 18 in Doha. However, he confirmed that discussions are underway with several teams to organize one or two friendly matches before departing for Morocco, and that the identity of the opponents will be announced soon once the agreements are finalized.
Training Organization
Regarding the organization of work during the preparation, Trabelsi explained: "I will lead all the training sessions myself. Even on days when the team plays matches in the Arab Cup, we will adjust the training schedules for the players concerned by the Africa Cup of Nations to ensure good coordination between the two groups."
Expectations and Objectives
The coach also highlighted that public expectations have grown after the excellent performance in the friendly match against Brazil, a match he described as exceptional at all levels, both in terms of the level of the opponent and the commitment and determination shown by the players in front of a large audience.
Road to the Title
"To aim for the continental title, we must approach each match with the same concentration, the same desire, and the same determination as we showed against Brazil. This match proved that our players are capable of showing a better face against top teams," he added.
Upcoming Tournaments
As a reminder, Tunisia will play in Group A of the Arab Cup, alongside Qatar, the winner of the Libya-Palestine match, and the qualifier after the Syria-South Sudan match. In the Africa Cup of Nations, the national team will be part of Group C with Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda.
