Breaking News: Morocco to Require Electronic Visas for Tunisian Citizens
The news has come as a surprise. Moroccan authorities will require Tunisian citizens to obtain an electronic visa (e-visa) to enter Morocco between September 25, 2025, and January 26, 2026. This temporary and exceptional measure is justified by the organization of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN).
Mass Logistics and Security Concerns
The introduction of the e-visa, although surprising, is mainly explained by the colossal logistical challenges of hosting an event like the CAN. Thousands of supporters are expected to arrive in Morocco. For the host country, the challenge is to manage a massive flow of people in a secure and organized manner.
The electronic visa allows authorities to better control entries into the territory. It is a screening and tracking tool that can help prevent incidents related to hooliganism, regional tensions, or other security factors. This measure, although temporary, reflects a growing trend among host countries of major events to use technology to better manage visitor flows.
How to Obtain an E-Visa for Morocco
For Tunisian citizens, obtaining a temporary electronic visa (e-visa) to enter Morocco follows a simplified procedure, depending on the purpose of your trip.
For CAN 2025 Supporters
If you plan to attend the matches, the process is centralized through a dedicated mobile application. A special CAN e-visa (AEVM) will be exclusively issued through the official "Yalla" application. This digital platform centralizes all procedures, from visa application to access to Fan ID and match tickets.
For Other Travel Purposes (Tourism, Business, etc.)
If you are traveling to Morocco for other reasons, you must submit your e-visa application online through the official web portal. It is essential to make your request at least 96 hours (4 days) before your arrival date to allow for processing of your application. You will need to fill out a form and provide the required documents in digital format.
