Recent Study Reveals Severe Microbial Contamination on Certain Parts of E-Cigarettes
A recent study has uncovered severe microbial contamination on certain parts of e-cigarettes, far exceeding the levels of bacteria found in public restrooms. Laboratory tests have shown that the mouthpiece of e-cigarettes, due to its warm and humid environment, becomes a fertile ground for the growth of bacteria and fungi if not cleaned regularly. Reinhold Mbofho, a microbiologist at BioLabTests laboratory in Coventry, UK, confirmed that "each contact or each puff on the device increases the amount of germs accumulated." He added: "these results highlight the importance of regular cleaning and maintaining high hygiene standards for e-cigarette devices."
