Tunisian Citizen Donates Rare Boat to Global Soumoud Fleet Heading to Gaza

Tunisian citizen, Houcem Eddine Ben Taher, has announced that he is donating his rare boat to the Global Soumoud Fleet, which is en route to Gaza in an attempt to break the blockade imposed by the Zionist entity. In a video shared on social media, Ben Taher explained that his decision was motivated by a moral commitment: "If I don't participate, it will be a stain of shame on my forehead. This boat is very precious to me, but everything becomes secondary for Gaza and for Palestine." Acquired in 2021, Ben Taher's boat is part of an extremely limited series of 11 units worldwide. In addition to his donation, he has stated that he will personally drive his boat to the coast of Gaza, despite the risks involved. "The greatest legacy I can leave to my children is to show them that I am fighting for freedom, justice, for Palestine, and for Gaza," he added, in a statement to Al Jazeera. The Global Soumoud Fleet set sail at the end of August with around 20 ships departing from Barcelona, followed by a second wave that left from Genoa last Monday. A third fleet is scheduled to depart from Tunisia next Wednesday before converging on Gaza. This international initiative brings together the Freedom Flotilla Coalition, the Global Movement for Gaza, the Soumoud Caravan, and the Malaysian organization Soumoud Nusantara. On August 22, the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) declared a state of famine in northern Gaza, warning that the situation could quickly spread to other areas due to the blockade imposed by the Zionist entity.
