A Violent Earthquake Hits Afghanistan
A violent earthquake struck Afghanistan on Friday evening, September 6, 2025, just a few days after a devastating earthquake hit the eastern part of the country. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), the earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale, occurred in the Kunar province, eastern Afghanistan, at a depth of 10 kilometers, as reported by Al-Arabiya.net. Residents of the capital, Kabul, felt the tremor, but no injuries or damage have been reported so far. The eastern region of Afghanistan has been hit by multiple earthquakes in recent days. A first earthquake with a magnitude of 6 and a depth of 8 kilometers struck the region on Sunday night, followed by numerous aftershocks and another strong tremor on Thursday evening. The Taliban movement in power and the Afghan Red Crescent recently reported that the death toll from these earthquakes has risen to around 2,200, with more than 3,600 injured.
