Thousands of Portuguese Citizens March in Support of the Palestinian Cause
Thousands of Portuguese citizens participated on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in a massive march in support of the Palestinian cause, on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The protesters, gathered in Lisbon, the Portuguese capital, called for an end to the ongoing genocide in Palestine and for the occupation to cease. The march was organized by various institutions and civil society organizations, including the Portuguese Council for Peace and Cooperation, the Movement for the Defense of the Rights of the Palestinian People and Peace in the Middle East, the General Union of Portuguese Workers, and others. It brought together a large crowd from different Portuguese cities, including Beja and Portuguese Nazareth.
Key Demands
The protesters held up banners demanding respect for the ceasefire, an end to the aggression of the occupation, and respect for international law. Other banners condemned the occupation and affirmed the right of the Palestinian people to freedom and peace.
Broad Solidarity
Representatives of Portuguese parliamentary parties, as well as human rights activists, artists, journalists, and others, also participated in the march, clearly affirming the broad popular, political, and cultural solidarity of Portugal with Palestine.
